Improv Bootcamp in association with Impro Australia is currently in talks with acclaimed longform improv group Dasariski to bring their show and workshops from LA to Sydney in late Jan / early Feb 2011.

‘So who are these guys?’ I hear you asking…

Well, quite simply, their 3 man show is the best longform improv I’ve ever seen, and they have worked with some of the biggest names in American Comedy today. Dasariski combines the names and talents of Robert Dassie, Rich Talarico, and Craig Cackowski, and plays to sold-out houses every week at L.A.’s IO West Theater. They first met at Chicago’s IO in 1992 and all three are veterans of Chicago’s Second City. Their TV and film credits as writers and actors include Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, Arrested Development, Monk, Late Night With Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, the feature film High Fidelity, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Community and HBO’s Funny or Die Presents.

The plan is to run intensive workshops over the course of a week and a bit sometime during late Jan / early Feb 2011 (dates yet tbc).  Classes can focus on any (or all) of the following topics:

The Way of Improv – a zen approach to the work focusing on story telling skills, group mind and plotless improv.

Sustaining a Scene – a focus on the techniques needed for improvising 10 minute, 1/2 hour and Hour long scenes.

Keeping It Simple - Getting “out of your head” with techniques that will tune out the “rules” and other distractions and guarantee you a more successful scene.

(We may also be able to run some short courses if the interest is there)
